Two Italian volunteers brought a critically ill patient by ambulance from Italy to the Republic of Moldova

Two Italian volunteers travelled over 2000 kilometres to transport a critically ill patient from Monza, Italy, to the Republic of Moldova. According to the Italian press, the person had been in hospital since February.

So the two volunteers set off for our country last Wednesday, 9 August 2023, and travelled through five countries: Italy, Slovenia, Hungary, Romania and the Republic of Moldova, while ensuring the patient’s safety.

The route was covered in 24 hours, and at the Moldovan customs, the volunteers were met by a relative to reach their final destination, and it took another 24 hours to return to Italy.
