The leader of the Party for Action and Solidarity (PAS), Igor Grosu, declared after the parliamentary elections that gave his party a legislative majority that the Republic of Moldova faces a “constant threat” from the Russian Federation.

Grosu said, “This threat did not appear yesterday or the day before. It has persisted for at least 34 years. The Russian Federation has always intervened in our affairs and on our territory,” emphasizing that vigilance and defense of democracy remain the only remedies.

He reminded that a foreign army remains on Moldovan territory, “illegally maintained” by the Russian Federation, posing a threat to the country’s integrity and sovereignty.

Grosu also highlighted the importance of international partners and citizens with critical thinking in resisting external interference. “Today, I received a call from my counterpart, Mr. Ruslan Stefanciuk, President of the Supreme Rada of Ukraine. He congratulated me, and I told him that we won because they defend not only themselves, but also us and all of Europe,” Grosu said.

He added, “We are lucky to have good, brave, and reliable neighbors.”
