The social and educational projects carried out in our country by UNICEF, as well as the situation of refugee children here in Ukraine served as topics of discussion for the president of the country, Maia Sandu, with the executive director of UNICEF, Catherine Russell, who is making a working visit to the region.
With reference to the children of Ukrainian families who are in our country because of the war, Maia Sandu mentioned that joint efforts and continuous international support are needed to ensure their access to social, health and educational services.
Maia Sandu and Catherine Russell also spoke about bilateral cooperation in the field of education. The head of state reaffirmed her support for the education reform in Moldova, in order to be able to offer every child and young person the chance for quality studies.
