The President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, said that Sunday’s vote confirmed the citizens’ clear choice for the European path:

“Moldova, you succeeded once again. No attempt to sow fear or division could break your determination. You made a clear choice: Europe. Democracy. Freedom. Our door is open, and we will support you at every step. The future is yours.”

The President of the European Parliament, Roberta Metsola, congratulated Moldova on this “historic moment”:

“The future of the Republic of Moldova is in Europe! The people chose democracy, hope, and opportunities. Europe is Moldova. Moldova is Europe.”

“Citizens expressed themselves clearly. They chose democracy, reform, and a European future, despite pressures and interference from Russia. The European Union supports the Republic of Moldova at every step.”
