USAID Announces Launch of Wine Export Promotion Grants Program for Moldova

USAID has unveiled the Wine Export Promotion Grants Program, aimed at supporting wine producers in the country to diversify their export markets, achieve sustainable growth, and strengthen Moldova’s position in the global wine industry. The grant program aims to further enhance and consolidate the significant progress made by Moldova’s wine industry over the past decade.

As part of the USAID Moldova Competitiveness and Rural Resilience Project (PCRR), the Wine Export Promotion Grants Program boasts a total budget of 13,000,000 MDL. Its primary goal is to stimulate sales and the diversification of high-quality wine exports by promoting access to non-traditional markets with high added value. By providing support for marketing and promotional activities, the program aims to build a positive image of Moldovan wine in these markets.

Moldovan wine exporters can apply for grants of up to 1 million MDL per company, depending on the scale of their business. Eligibility criteria, project selection, and evaluation will be taken into consideration in a competitive process, with an estimated 20 companies in the wine industry expected to benefit from non-repayable financial support.
