The Vice President of the Parliament, Mihai Popșoi, chaired for the first time the plenary session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), during his visit to the PACE summer session.
Popșoi announced that he had moderated the debate on the role of the Council of Europe in the context of the recent Challenges to European Security.

Many proposals were raised during the debate, including the support of several delegates from the parliaments of the EU member states for the status of candidate country for the Republic of Moldova, which would contribute to strengthening regional security. We remind you that the delegation of the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova participates in the summer session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe. The meeting will take place on 20-24 June in Strasbourg. The delegation includes the head of the national delegation to PACE, the vice-president of the Committee on Foreign Policy and European Integration, Ion Groza, as well as the vice-presidents of the Parliament, Mihail Popșoi and Vlad Batrîncea.
