Victor Chirila: Romania has been main trading partner of Moldova for years

Romania is the main trading partner of the Republic of Moldova. This situation has been maintained for years and every year Moldova’s exports to Romania increase, Moldova’s Ambassador in Bucharest Victor Chirila said in an interview with IPN.

“More and more companies from the Republic of Moldova are coming to Romania, opening offices, branches, resorting to the assistance of the embassy to facilitate the opening of large commercial networks for their products and I must say that, in most cases, we succeed in this,” said Victor Chirila.

This year, a large network of stores selling poultry will also enter the Romanian market. “This is among our latest achievements that we are very happy about,” noted the ambassador said.

According to Victor Chirila, the Moldovan wines are also in demand on the Romanian market, but not only on it. Moldova can no longer be economically blackmailed by the Russian Federation. After Moscow boycotted Moldovan products, the state coped with the situation and turned to other markets, including Romania.

“Our wines are now appreciated all over the world. They no longer need the Russian market to develop. They conquered not only Romania, but also many states in the European Union. They reached Australia, the United States of America and Brazil, an increasingly attractive market for our wines,” said Victor Chirila.

Moldova is hopeful that the Romanian market will further remain open to Moldovan products, including agricultural or industrial products.
