The managers of 56 companies have signed funding contracts with the Organisation for the Development of Entrepreneurship (ODA) to receive grants from the Moldovan Government and the European Union. The total value of the grants amounts to 13.4 million lei, while the total value of the economy investments exceeds 25.6 million lei.
The economic agents have accessed the grants to equip their companies with high-performance machinery and facilities to harness alternative energy sources and digitize their work processes. The grants were obtained through the Start for Youth Programme, the Program for Attracting Remittances to the Economy PARE 1+2, and the SME Digital Transformation Program.
Dumitru Alaiba, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economic Development and Digitisation of the Republic of Moldova, spoke about the government’s commitment to supporting the national economy through strategic initiatives. The Minister also stressed the importance of assisting young entrepreneurs, who are the engine of innovation and economic development and highlighted the importance of supporting the diaspora in launching and developing businesses.

“Today, we are helping 56 more companies grow their business, expand, and improve their capabilities to produce more and faster. Our main goals are to simplify bureaucracy, digitize, and support entrepreneurs, especially those in small and medium-sized enterprises, by offering them financing and new markets. We want to have a growing economy. For that, we need your business to grow and develop. We have a common interest, and we are with you in this process,” said Minister of Economic Development and Digitisation Dumitru Alaiba.
Vadim Codreanu, director of the Entrepreneurship Development Organisation, mentioned in his speech the importance of grants in economic development and the proactive attitude of entrepreneurs in business development.
“I encourage entrepreneurs to be open to innovation and to explore new possibilities for funding and collaboration to achieve their goals. In addition to the grants they get, business people must be willing to learn and adapt to new trends. Attending courses, conferences, and networking events organized by the Entrepreneurship Development Organisation can also be a great way to learn about the latest developments and acquire new skills,” said Vadim Codreanu.
At the same time, company managers received information on the contractual details and how to interact between ODA and beneficiaries to ensure an efficient and productive relationship in project implementation.
Sarbu Tudor, from the village of Tirnova, Dondușeni district, is the company administrator “Rom-Cris SRL” and has accessed a grant of 500,000 lei through the Digital Transformation of SMEs Program. The entrepreneur opted to equip the poultry halls with modern equipment.
“With this financial support, we intend to purchase equipment that will make our work more efficient by having a digital system for monitoring and managing the halls. We want to adapt to EU requirements and standards. So we can also export to this market,” said the entrepreneur.

Since the beginning of the year, the Entrepreneurship Development Organisation has registered 193 companies that have received grants through various entrepreneurial support programs. The total value is 90 million lei, of which about 80 million lei is from the state budget.
The Government of the Republic of Moldova and the European Union funded the programs through the ODA.
