(VIDEO) An animator from Moldova took part in the creation of a cartoon at Warner Bros. studio

Mihaela Buzgan, a talented young woman from Moldova, has made her mark in the world of animation by contributing to the production of a new animated movie by the renowned Hollywood studio Warner Bros., titled “Merry Little Batman.”

Specializing in 2-D animation and book illustration, Buzgan collaborated with the Gigglebug Entertainment team from Finland on this recently released cartoon. Her noteworthy involvement includes the creation of 2D character animation, showcasing her skill and creativity in bringing characters to life in this exciting cinematic venture.

“This year I had the opportunity to work on a super cool Warner Brothers animated production called “Merry Little Batman,” which was produced to a large extent at Gigglebug Entertainment studio in Finland. It was the first feature film production I had ever been involved in as a 2D animator. I am happy with the experience I got from this project. At the moment, the movie is in English on the Amazon Prime video platform.

The movie is done in the traditional 2D digital style. The intention of director Mike Roth was to recreate the look of a book illustration with an unusual style of characters, much more graphic and comical, but to keep the 2D animation smooth, which was a challenge as the character design is semi-volumetric and rotating it in space was a creative challenge. It was a challenge for the animators, so we had to work closely with the director to ensure that the character stayed on the model even in the most unusual poses,” said Mihaela.

The cartoon will premiere on December 27 at 6:30 p.m. at Mediacor. Admission is free, but pre-registration is required.
