Ana Revenco shared reflections about a life lived under three different regimes and about a lesson on “purpose” passed down from generation to generation during the Reinvent Moldova 2.0.
Revenco said that after her father’s death, she found a box containing her grandfather’s documents, which reflected the historical transformations experienced by the Republic of Moldova.
“In this box I found three of my grandfather’s documents: a birth certificate from the Kingdom of Romania, a marriage certificate from the Moldavian Soviet Socialist Republic written in Cyrillic, and a death certificate from the Republic of Moldova. One man’s life, three regimes…” she said.
The head of the Center for Strategic Communication and Countering Disinformation explained that her grandfather spoke not about resistance, but about responsibility and building.
“I did not know my grandfather as someone who resisted or showed resilience. I knew him as a man who built things. He did this by telling everyone that this was his purpose. For him, purpose meant taking responsibility for transformation within his own small universe, without waiting for someone from outside to come and build his country, the universe we today call Moldova,” Revenco stated.
Reinvent Moldova 2.0 serves as a platform for dialogue about the European future of the Republic of Moldova and brings together political leaders, experts, and representatives of civil society.
