On Sunday, September 28, the PAS President, Igor Grosu, was involved in a tense exchange with a journalist from a TV station affiliated with the fugitive oligarch Ilan Shor. The incident occurred as Grosu, together with his wife Inga Grosu, was leaving a polling station in Chisinau after casting his vote in the parliamentary elections.

When asked about the alleged closure of Chișinău International Airport to foreign citizens, Grosu dismissed the claims as part of a manipulation campaign. “The airport is not closed. Maybe it’s closed only for bandits,” he stated, adding that the airport is operating normally.

The Parliament Speaker also accused the TV station that asked the airport question of promoting Ilan Shor’s interests, whom he called a “bandit” and “fugitive,” claiming the media outlet is funded with “dirty money.” “It’s a propaganda channel paid by Shor,” Grosu said.

Prior to this question, Grosu was also asked about reports concerning the relocation of certain polling stations near the Transnistrian region. He noted that he did not have details and urged journalists to seek explanations from the Central Electoral Commission to avoid confusion. “I don’t know if certain stations were physically moved; it’s better to ask the CEC,” he clarified.
