(VIDEO) Job Fair, a tool for social cohesion

On 29 May, the Palace of the Republic hosted the Chisinau Job Fair, a large-scale event organized by HEKS-EPER Moldova in collaboration with Helvetas and the National Agency for Employment. This fair was part of the project “Increasing resilience through employment and social cohesion,” an essential step to support both Moldovans and refugees from Ukraine.

Diana Golovatic, HEKS-EPER Moldova communicator facilitator, said:

“We are running in the country to create a favorable space between employers and job seekers, our Moldovans, including refugees from Ukraine, through the project.”

The fair brought together over 40 employers and 25 educational institutions, providing a robust platform for valuable interactions.

Ala Shupac, head of the General Directorate for Employment, Chisinau, also spoke about the job offers available for refugees from Ukraine:

“Refugees can apply for any position except for public positions, where you must necessarily be a citizen of the Republic of Moldova.”

Over 2000 job offers were available to participants, covering a variety of fields such as catering, banking, IT, law enforcement agencies, and public positions, and young people from all over the world can find out about offers from educational institutions.

The “Work in Tech” project, initiated by HEKS-EPER Moldova for the first time in our country, was also in the spotlight. This project offers free courses in technical specialties taught by Google-accredited teachers.

Olga Cegorean, Project Officer HEKS-EPER Moldova, explained:

“We offer free access to 4 courses taught by Google-accredited teachers. We have IT support, digital marketing and e-commerce, project management, and web design.”

The event in Chisinau was the third of its kind, following previous ones in Ialoveni and Anenii Noi. These fairs provide job opportunities and increase social cohesion. It is essential for strong and united community development.

Through these initiatives, HEKS-EPER Moldova, with its partners, demonstrates its commitment to building a better future for all the people of Moldova, including those who have found refuge here because of conflicts in neighboring countries.
