Mail-in voting concluded on Thursday, October 31, 2024, at 6:00 PM. In the second round of the presidential elections, polling stations in the USA, Canada, and Sweden received 1,447 envelopes.
During a meeting of the Central Electoral Commission (CEC), Angela Caraman, the president of the CEC, provided clarifications. She reported that the polling station at the Moldovan embassy in the USA received 790 envelopes, the one in Canada received 436, and the one in Sweden received 221.
We clarify that the polling station at our diplomatic mission in Stockholm received the mail-in votes of Moldovans from Sweden, Finland, Norway, and Iceland.

In the 2024 elections, the authorities in the Republic of Moldova are testing the mail-in voting procedure. More than 1,800 citizens from the six countries participating in the project have registered to cast their votes by mail.
