Video Prime Minister announces significant infrastructure plans: First motorway and renovated circus in Moldova

The city centre of Chisinau is to be finished within the next two years. The feasibility study for the motorway to Odessa could be completed soon, Dorin Recean has announced. On Wednesday, the Prime Minister discussed several ambitious infrastructure projects proposed by the government in the coming years.

The Prime Minister stated that 850 projects were in progress over the last two years, with an additional 500 to be finished by the end of 2024. This project entails reconstructing around 400 kilometres of roads, and over 230 kilometres of water and sewage networks, rehabilitating and constructing bridges, installing street lighting, and investing in hospitals and educational institutions.

” In the upcoming two years, we have significant projects that we will accomplish. The Soroca-Arionesti-Otaci road, the Chisinau-Giurgiulesti route, and the Ungheni-Chisinau-Odesa motorway will be completed, and the feasibility study for the latter will be finished by the end of 2025. The Leuseni-Hincesti road construction will also be undertaken. We will complete the Capital Beltway and the repair of the Circus, as well as construct the Ungheni road bridge. Additionally, we will renovate and equip the sanitary blocks of over 150 schools for the benefit of Chisinau residents and the entire country (…),” announced the Prime Minister.

Recean has announced a budget of approximately 3.5 billion lei for the next two years for the projects. External funds may supplement financial resources.
