Romanian President Nicusor Dan has arrived in the Republic of Moldova for an official visit on Thursday, August 27, at the invitation of Moldovan President Maia Sandu, as Moldova marks 35 years since the proclamation of independence.
Dan began his visit in Cahul, where his first stop was the Republican Musical-Dramatic Theatre “Bogdan Petriceicu Hasdeu”. The Romanian president visited the construction site of the institution’s ongoing reconstruction project.
He will also visit the “Bogdan Petriceicu Hasdeu” University Center in Cahul, Gindul.ro reports.
Nicusor Dan was welcomed by Moldovan Foreign Minister Mihai Popsoi and Romania’s ambassador to Chisinau, Cristian-Leon Turcanu.

Meeting with Maia Sandu in Chisinau
Following his program in Cahul, the Romanian president will travel to Chisinau, where he is scheduled to be received by Maia Sandu at 2:35 p.m.
The two presidents will hold a private meeting, followed by official talks between the two delegations.
Later, at 4:45 p.m., Nicusor Dan will join Maia Sandu at the Great National Assembly Square (PMAN) for the military parade organized as part of Moldova’s Independence Day celebrations.
