The International Festival of Classical Music VinOpera 2024 has concluded, and we at the Constantin Mimi Foundation are pleased to reflect on the 7th edition of this unique event in the Republic of Moldova. For the second consecutive year, the festival spanned three days, featuring two concerts with free admission for all. This year, we successfully organized exceptional performances with outstanding artists, promoting classical music and culture for our wonderful community.
The gala performance took place on September 6 at Castel Mimi. It was attended by almost 1000 music lovers, including ambassadors, musicians, journalists, and business and cultural institutions, among them the President of the Parliament, Igor Grosu, who was at VinOpera for the second time.
The event brought together on the stage of Castel Mimi important names of national and international opera, and the surprise of this edition was the unrepeatable soprano Elena Moshuc, winner of the famous Oscar della Lirica competition in 2019, becoming one of the most valuable voices in the world.
Two more performances by Select Quartet Plus and soloists Tatiana Costiuc and Igor Turcanu followed, entertaining 200 people from the villages of Telita and Bulboaca. We organized unique concerts with a special artistic program promoting classical music and European cultural values in rural areas, where the public had free access.
The Realitatea Press Group was VinOpera’s media partner for the second year in a row, covering the three days of concerts. The events on September 6, 14, and 15 were watched by almost 150 thousand followers on online platforms, and another 60 thousand people watched the concerts in front of their TV sets on Rlive TV.
“We enjoyed the support from partners, locals, mayors, and classical music lovers. VinOpera is the best classical music concert in Moldova, that’s what those who participated told us. We believe it is the best because it contributes to changing society and promotes important values,” says Cristina Frolov, President of the Constantin Mimi Foundation.

The Constantin Mimi Foundation is an active sustainability promoter, and the events we organize are nature-friendly. In addition to the now traditional wine train, with the help of which several hundred cars remain parked in Chisinau, thus reducing the carbon footprint in the atmosphere, we organized two of the three concerts using only the sun’s energy produced by the photovoltaic park at the castle.
Castel Mimi ditched plastic and served wine in recyclable glass cups at all three events. At the gala concert, each audience member was given eco-bracelets and returned them at the end to be used in the spring to tie up the vine shoots in the vineyard’s vineyards.
VinOpera International Festival of Classical Music in extended format, with two free concerts, was organized with the financial support of the Department for Relations with the Republic of Moldova of the Romanian Government and thanks to the partnership with the Ministry of Culture and the Romanian Cultural Institute “Mihai Eminescu” in Chisinau.
