The competition run by the Wine Travel Awards, a website specializing in promoting fine wines and tourism worldwide, has ended and the organizers have announced the winners in each category. The VinOpera International Classical Music Festival was voted one of the five best food and wine events worldwide. Castel Mimi announced this success on its Facebook page.
“This result makes us even stronger and more motivated to develop the wine tourism field in the Republic of Moldova and to promote high-quality culture and music in our country. Thank you for voting for Castel Mimi and VinOpera, thank you for supporting us and we urge you to keep your fingers crossed for the next step,” Castel Mimi writes.

The competition, in which Moldovans could participate and vote, ran from 1-31 March. Next, a professional jury of 12 international experts in wine, gastronomic tourism, and journalism will choose the world’s best event of the year from five public preferences.
VinOpera is an international cultural event that takes place every year in early autumn and is organized by the Constantin Mimi Foundation. Last year, for the first time, the event took place not only at Castel Mimi. It was also in the surrounding villages – Bulboaca and Varnita, where the public had free concert access. The gala evening brought together on the same stage at Mimi Castle great opera soloists from Romania and Moldova, who performed under the baton of the great Romanian conductor Daniel Jinga.
