“We are a nation with deep-rooted wine traditions”: Alaiba about the growth of Moldovan wine exports to EU countries

From January to October 2023, an increase in exports of Moldovan wines was registered – by 8.6% compared to the 2022. This was announced by Economy Minister Dumitru Alaiba on his Facebook page. According to him, the amount of exports is 111 million dollars.

“We are a nation with deep-rooted wine traditions, and this is not only our heritage but a contributing factor to future prosperity. The destinations of our wines also reflect the direction of our aspirations: 45% to the EU; 29% to the rest of the world; 26% to the CIS,” Dumitru Alaiba wrote.


Dumitru Alaiba noted that Moldovan wines are appreciated in Romania, Poland, the Czech Republic, Georgia, the UK, the USA, Canada, China, and many other countries.

“Our winemakers continue to show that passion, dedication, and innovation leave their mark on the global market. Wherever you are, raise a glass of Wines of Moldova to support the continued growth and success of our wines! Thanks also to our strategic partners who continue to support the development of local producers,” added the Minister of Economy.
