What security measures will be taken at the June 1 summit?

Moldova pledged to provide the highest level of security at the summit of the European Political Community. This was stated by president Maia Sandu, noting that efforts will be made to reduce the impact of security measures on the population.

“This is an extremely important topic, and we are committed to providing the highest level of security standards. We are talking about the presence of heads of state. We work with the security agencies of other states by international procedures and protocols.

Security measures will be gradually adjusted. Closer to the event, they will be carried out to a greater extent. We try to do everything to eliminate the inconvenience for the citizens and for those who live, work, and travel near the venue of the event. We approach with all seriousness and learn from the experience of other states how to organize such events”, Maia Sandu said.

On June 1, 2023, the summit of the European Community will be held in Chisinau. 47 presidents and heads of government, as well as heads of the European Union, are expected to attend the event.

Leaders meeting in Chisinau will discuss joint efforts to achieve peace in the context of the war in Ukraine and related crises, defending democracy, and strengthening energy security.
