Maia Sandu told who will finance the historic meeting on June 1

The summit of the European Political Community, which will take place on June 1, 2023, will be financed from the state budget, and part of the costs will be covered by the Council of the European Union. This was stated by the President of the Republic of Moldova, Maia Sandu, at a press conference on April 27.

The head of state noted that “On June 1, in the village of Bulboaca, on the territory of the Castle Mimi wine complex, our country will for the first time have the honor of hosting about 50 heads of state and government from Europe, as well as EU officials”.

“Information on expenses will be made public. A significant part is investments in projects that will benefit citizens. It’s about road repairs and more. We are investing in good relations with our partners, in the future of the country, in the European future… This summit will be financed from the state budget, and part of the costs will be covered by the Council of the European Union”, Maia Sandu said.

On June 1, 2023, the summit of the European Community will be held in Chisinau. 47 presidents and heads of government, as well as heads of the European Union, are expected to attend the event.

Leaders meeting in Chisinau will discuss joint efforts to achieve peace in the context of the war in Ukraine and related crises, defending democracy, and strengthening energy security.
