Between January and July 2024, Chisinau International Airport handled about 7,900 round-trip flights. In the first five months of the year, the punctuality level was satisfactory, but in July, significant problems emerged. This month, only 46% of flights landed on time, and only 39% took off on schedule. During the same period, the airport saw a record number of passengers, some 485,000, according to an analysis by Stanislav Ghiletschi of IPRE, Bani.md reports.
The most frequent destinations during the monitored period were Istanbul (13.8% of flights), Antalya (10.7%), Bucharest (9.2%), London (7.5%), Warsaw (5.4%), Tel Aviv and Sharm El-Sheikh (4.8% each), Yerevan (4.1%) and Dublin (3.3%).
In airline terms, Fly One operated the highest percentage of flights, with 31% of all flights at Chisinau International Airport, followed by HiSky with 22%.

Turkish Airlines, TAROM, and LOT Polish Airlines were the most punctual landing airlines. On take-off, the most punctual were TAROM, Fly One, and HiSky. However, the airlines with the most delays on landing were WizzAir, Pegasus, and HiSky, and on take-off – Pegasus, Austrian, and WizzAir.
