With unique emotions, full applause, and select wine, the three evenings of VinOpera unfolded

The International Classical Music Festival VinOpera concluded yesterday with a gala evening at Castel Mimi, where over 60 musicians and opera artists from Romania and the Republic of Moldova received standing ovations and enthusiastic applause from the audience.

The event was attended by prominent guests, including the President of the Parliament, Igor Grosu; the Minister of Culture, Sergiu Prodan; the US Ambassador to the Republic of Moldova, Kent Losdon; the EU Ambassador to Chisinau, Janis Mazeiks; the Romanian Ambassador, Cristian-Leon Ţurcanu, as well as representatives from several diplomatic missions.

The baton of Romanian conductor Daniel Jinga led the musicians of the National Opera Orchestra from Bucharest and the National Philharmonic Orchestra “Serghei Lunchevici” from Chisinau in an exceptional symphonic concert.

The stage at Castel Mimi echoed with the solo voices of opera performers from Bucharest – Iordache Basalic and Mădălina Barbu, and from Chisinau – Lilia Istratii and Dumitru Mîţu. The artists performed opera arias solo and in duets, which were highly appreciated by the audience – Lilia Istratii with Dumitru Mîţu and Iordache Basalic with Dumitru Mîţu.

The evening culminated with “O sole Mio,” composed by Eduardo di Capua and Alfredo Mazzucchi, performed by all four artists. This moment received a standing ovation from the audience at Castel Mimi.

VinOpera took place this year for the first time in three locations. Recitals in the villages of VarniÅ£a and Bulboaca, featuring “Gândul Mâţei Band,” the Ethnofolk Ensemble “PlăieÅŸii,” Constantin Moscovici, Felicia Dunaf, and “Dunaff Band,” were open to the public, allowing anyone to enjoy the music of beloved artists.

The International VinOpera Festival was organized by the Constantin Mimi Foundation with the financial support of the Department for Relations with the Republic of Moldova, the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Moldova, the Romanian Cultural Institute “Mihai Eminescu” in Chisinau, and Castel Mimi.
