Martina Meola, a young pianist from Moldova, has secured first place at the Jeune Chopin International Piano Competition in Lugano, Switzerland. The competition, dedicated to celebrating Chopin’s music, brought together talented young musicians from worldwide and was chaired by renowned pianist Martha Argerich.
“This was a wonderful experience, full of indescribable emotions! Many thanks to the organizers and especially to my extraordinary teacher, Silvia Limongelli, for all the effort and support,” Martina shared on social media.
A Rising Star in the Classical Music World
Before competing in Lugano, Martina performed in Chisinau, presenting her competition program at the inauguration of the new Steinway piano at the Organ Hall.

A Young Talent with an International Journey
Martina Meola was born in Milan on November 28, 2012. She began her musical education at the Alexei Starcea School of Arts in Chisinau. The Giuseppe Verdi Conservatory in Milan admitted her to the Young Talents Program when she was just 9 years old.
With her latest victory, Martina strengthens her position as one of Europe’s most promising young pianists.
