77 pupils and students will receive merit scholarships

This year, 77 merit scholarships will be awarded to pupils and students. Thus, in the 2022-2023 academic year, the following types of merit scholarships will be awarded:

  • Bursa Republicii – 12 scholarships, worth 1755 lei each, for students of the first cycle, second cycle, integrated studies, medical and pharmaceutical education from higher education institutions;
  • Government Scholarship – 30 scholarships, worth 1460 lei, for students of the first cycle, second cycle, integrated studies, medical and pharmaceutical education from higher education institutions;
  • Scholarship of the President of the Republic of Moldova – 15 scholarships, of which 10 (1595 lei) for students of the first cycle, second cycle, integrated higher studies, medical and pharmaceutical education from higher education institutions and 5 scholarships (1235 lei) for students from institutions of vocational technical post-secondary and post-secondary non-tertiary education;
  • “Gaudeamus” scholarship – 20 scholarships, worth 1060 lei, for students from post-secondary and post-secondary non-tertiary technical vocational education institutions.

For the merit scholarships, students and pupils who obtained in the previous year of studies an average grade in the summer session of no less than 9 in the technical, agrarian, economic, medical, military, law and real study profiles/fields and not less than 9.5 in other profiles/fields of study.

For the competition in the academic year 2022-2023, higher education institutions submitted 104 files, and technical professional education institutions – 22 files.

The awarding of merit scholarships is part of the policies promoted by the government to strengthen the higher education system and align it with EU standards. Also, they aim to ensure the increase in the attractiveness and national and international competitiveness of post-secondary higher education and professional technical institutions in the country, through supporting performance and meritocracy.
