Historic Pen Used by Moldovan President Sandu to Sign EU Membership Request Sold for €6,000 at Charity Auction

The pen used by the President of the Republic of Moldova, Maia Sandu, to sign the official request for the country’s accession to the European Union, was sold at a charity auction for an amount of 6,000 euros. This happened during an event hosted by the non-governmental organization “Copil, Comunitate, Familie” (Child, Community, Family). The name of the owner of the historic pen was not disclosed, as reported by Moldova1.

‘The auction took place during the 10th edition of the Generosity Ball, organized by CCF Moldova together with patron Valentina Nafornița. At the auction of items, we had many art objects and more, including this pen. The pen used by Maia Sandu to sign the request for accession to the European Union was sold for 6,000 euros,’ said Dan Melnic, the spokesperson for CCF Moldova.

The most expensive item was sold for the sum of 10,000 euros. It was a manuscript signed by the master Eugen Doga. The manuscript contains notes with the lyrics from the song ”Țara mea” (My Country) and the autograph of the great composer.

Among other items, the following were also auctioned: ‘Oro Nero’ cheese, three vintage pallets from the 1960s, a weekend at the Reguta Italia winery, an eight-day vacation in Sri Lanka, and more.

Thus, the auction raised a total of 41,350 euros. The funds collected will support the educational inclusion program for children with special needs and the prevention of family abandonment.
