Leaders Condemn Brussels Terrorist Attack: Moldova, Romania Extend Solidarity

President Maia Sandu issued a message on Tuesday in which she strongly condemns the terrorist attack in Brussels.

“I strongly condemn the attack in Brussels, which tragically resulted in two Swedish lives. Moldova stands with Belgium and Sweden during this challenging period,” the head of state stated in a tweet.

“We condemn terrorism in all its forms,” emphasizes Maia Sandu.

Romanian President Klaus Iohannis also conveyed a message condemning the terrorist attack in Brussels.

“We strongly condemn the terrorist attack in Brussels. Romania extends condolences to the families of the victims. We remain united around our common European values, where terror and hatred have no place,” Klaus Iohannis wrote on Twitter.

Two Swedish citizens were killed in Brussels on Monday night in an armed attack described as a “cowardly attack” by Belgian Prime Minister Alexander De Croo. The perpetrator, who fled on a scooter, was actively sought during the night from Monday to Tuesday.

A person believed to be the attacker was “neutralized” this morning in Brussels, as confirmed by the Minister of the Interior.
