In a discussion with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Latvia, Krišjānis Kariņš, Deputy Prime Minister Nicu Popescu addressed the topic of collaboration between our countries, focusing especially on leveraging Latvia’s experience and expertise in the process of joining the European Union.
“We have formalized the signing of a bilateral agreement in the field of social security between the Republic of Moldova and Latvia, with notable benefits for our diaspora in this country. At the same time, alongside my counterpart, we welcomed the decision of Air Baltic to inaugurate direct flights to Chisinau starting in May 2024, which will expand destination options for our fellow citizens,” stated Nicu Popescu.
“The support from the Baltic countries, including Latvia, is an essential element in our goal of joining the large family of the European Union,” concluded Nicu Popescu.
The collaborative efforts between Moldova and Latvia reflect a broader commitment to regional cooperation and shared objectives. As Moldova progresses on its path toward EU accession, leveraging the experience of nations like Latvia becomes instrumental in navigating the complexities of the integration process.
