Denmark is granting Moldova over 9 million euros. The areas where the funds will be invested

Denmark has announced new financial support for the Republic of Moldova, amounting to over 9 million euros. The announcement was made by Ole Thonke, Undersecretary for Development Policies at the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, during his participation at the Partnership Platform in Chisinau.

Denmark will allocate 2.7 million euros to improve energy efficiency and an equal amount to fight disinformation. Around 2 million euros will enhance security measures, 1.3 million will support election processes, and 700,000 euros will fund initiatives promoting gender equality.

“I am impressed by the progress made so far and by Moldova’s intense efforts to become a member of the European Union. Now, more than ever, it is important to strengthen Moldova’s resilience, security, and stability. Denmark’s assistance will enhance cooperation in priority areas, working closely with Moldovan authorities and civil society organizations,” stated Ole Thonke.

Thus, Denmark reaffirms its support for democracy and stability in Moldova during its European integration process. This assistance adds to the existing support from Denmark, bringing the total to over 40 million euros.
