Hundreds of supporters of the “Victory” bloc, composed of parties affiliated with Ilan Shor, now face debts owed to the Russian bank Promsvyazbank. Several individuals have sent messages to the Deschide.MD editorial office reported that they received notifications on the evening of Monday, October 7, from a Russian financial institution. These messages informed them that they must begin repaying a previously obtained loan starting November 1.
“Your credit limit is exhausted. The first payment is due on November 1, 2024, with a 0.1% penalty for each day of delay,” the message reads.
After receiving the message, frightened individuals began calling the block’s trustees, but the trustees refused to provide a clear answer.
“We received a message that we have debts to pay. It is not right what is happening. They promised us one thing, but we see something completely different. We fell into the trap. We did not expect this,” a woman from a village north of Moldova told us.

“Yesterday, I received a message stating that I need to pay a loan and that penalties will be applied for each day of delay. I do not know what to do with it. Me and my neighbors are worried. We don’t know what to do. What will be next,” said a man from Cahul.
“I don’t understand anything. What kind of credits? I have two children. Shor promised us ‘mountains of gold,’ but we see some credits written on our names. Everyone is panicking. We don’t know what to do. Calls go unanswered by anyone in the “Victoria” block, including at the central office. They’ve got their foot in our door. How do I pay this loan now? I have about ten acquaintances in the same situation. We don’t know what to do,” added a man from Gagauzia.
Promsvyazbank, which is under international sanctions, is being used by the “SHOR” group and the so-called “Eurasia” organization, behind which Russian special services are, to create MIR cards which are issued in large numbers to Moldovan citizens to corrupt them. In this way, people receive monthly sums of money as ‘help.’ In reality, the ‘Shor’ group aims to mobilize people to participate in various protest actions against the EU integration referendum and to support Shor candidates in the presidential elections.
