The Prime Minister of the Republic of Moldova, Dorin Recean, met last week with a delegation from the Romanian company Simtel Group (BVB: SMTL). The officials discussed Moldova’s transition to renewable energy, the country’s energy dependence and strategies to reduce it, as well as financing schemes for renewable energy projects, reports independentnews.ro.
Simtel Group, a company with 100% Romanian ownership, is a national leader in renewable energy. It operates in Moldova through its subsidiary, Simtel Solar.
The delegation included Mihai Tudor, CEO of Simtel Group; Ana Nedea, Director of Strategy and Business Development at Simtel Group; Ionut Vasilica, CEO of GES Romania and GES Trading Moldova; and Oleg Lasco, Country Manager of Simtel Solar in Moldova, according to a company statement.

Simtel Group representatives also held meetings with Carolina Novac, State Secretary for Decarbonization at the Ministry of Energy, officials from the Investment Agency, as well as representatives of banking institutions and free economic zones.
The discussions focused on balancing the energy market, energy supply, the possibility of signing Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs), and investments in energy storage solutions.

We appreciate the authorities’ openness to our proposals and commitment to accelerating the shift to renewable energy.
