“Sansa” Party Faces Dissolution as CEC Submits Complaint to Justice Ministry

The Central Electoral Commission has submitted a complaint to the Ministry of Justice and requested that it dissolve the “Sansa” Party, which Ilan Shor reportedly controls behind the scenes. According to CEC Vice President Pavel Postica, the party committed financial irregularities over an entire year, and its failure to address the violations despite repeated requests led to this decision.

Postica stated that the party consistently violated legal provisions and failed to provide all the necessary documents for financial oversight.

“We found that the political party, even when its activities were restricted, did not comply with legal provisions and did not submit all the required documents for financial oversight. These violations continued even after we requested additional documents for review. Given these consecutive breaches over a calendar year, we believe the party has met the legal conditions to initiate a judicial process to dissolve the “Sansa” Party,” Postica told Teleradio Moldova.

The leader of the “Sansa” Party, Alexei Lungu, denies the accusations and says he will challenge the decision in both national and international courts. He claims that the party has submitted all required reports on time.

The “Sansa” Party was founded in the summer of 2023, shortly after the former “Shor” Party was declared illegal. Later, the party was banned from participating in elections due to alleged illicit funding.
