President Maia Sandu met today, February 26, with members of the European Parliament’s Committee on Foreign Affairs (AFET), who are visiting Chisinau. They discussed our country’s European path and the EU’s support for Moldova’s economic development.
The head of state welcomed the progress of the approval process for the Moldova Growth Plan, an ambitious investment package worth 1.9 billion euros. These funds aim to support infrastructure projects and the private sector, creating secure and well-paid jobs – thereby boosting economic growth.
The president also emphasized the importance of economic integration with the European Union. She highlighted the expanded access of Moldovan agricultural products to the European market. This access stimulates investment, increases competitiveness, and supports farmers.

During the discussions, officials also addressed the Republic of Moldova’s external challenges. They also discussed our country’s commitment to strengthening resilience, maintaining peace, and contributing to regional security. It includes security at the EU’s eastern border.
President Maia Sandu also met today with the Secretary General of the OSCE, Feridun Hadi SinirlioÄŸlu, to discuss regional security, the OSCE’s support for the peaceful reintegration of the Republic of Moldova, and efforts to protect human rights in the Transnistrian region.
The discussions also covered the impact of Russia’s aggressive war against Ukraine on our country, as well as the necessary measures to strengthen democracy and the rule of law in the face of foreign attempts to undermine democracy in the Republic of Moldova. The OSCE Secretary General reaffirmed the organization’s support for our country’s resilience and the commitment to cooperation for stability and peace.
Members of the European Affairs Committee of the Danish Parliament will visit Chisinau
It is worth mentioning that from February 25 to the 27, the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova is hosting the visit of the European Affairs Committee delegation from the legislative body of the Kingdom of Denmark. The officials will meet with Moldova’s leadership.
