Activist Radu Dutcovici is reportedly involved in a criminal fraud investigation. The National Police and the National Inspectorate for Investigations (INI) carried out investigative actions in connection with the case.
Initial reports about Dutcovici’s detention appeared on several Telegram channels. Later, information circulated in the public sphere suggesting that he had been granted the procedural status of a suspect.
“I can confirm that this morning INI officers and prosecutors carried out criminal investigative actions in a fraud case. The investigation is ongoing,” Diana Fetco, spokesperson for the National Police, told Realitatea when asked about Radu Dutcovici’s reported detention.
As of the time of publication, the activist had not responded to Realitatea’s request for comment to confirm or deny the information circulating publicly about him.
