The law on social benefits for children, which establishes the granting of a monthly childcare allowance for all children up to the age of two, regardless of whether their parents are insured or not, was promulgated on September 27, by the country’s president, Maia Sandu.
“Today we promulgated the amendments to the Law on social benefits for children, which establish the granting of a monthly childcare allowance for all children up to the age of two, regardless of whether their parents are insured or not,” is stated in the announcement of the president.
Thus, from October, for uninsured parents, the childcare allowance will increase to 1000 lei. For insured parents, the new allowance of 1000 lei will be added to the existing one for childcare leave.
More than 63 thousand people will benefit from the allowance.

“We want all children in Moldova to grow up in safety and affection, and to have the necessary conditions for development,” said Sandu.
We specify that the law is also part of the “Family” Program, launched by the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection and which provides for an ample package of actions to support children and families with children in our country.
