Security in the Transnistrian region was the subject of discussions between Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilița and his Ukrainian counterpart, Denis Shmigal.
Ukraine and Moldova have agreed to cooperate in air defense issues and improve border control, announced the prime minister from Kyiv, during a press conference.
“We agreed to continue air defense cooperation and improve border control, and we also agreed to ensure more security and safety in the Transnistrian region. We will continue our efforts in the implementation of the so-called ‘package agreements’ and already in the first half of next year, we are going to hold discussions with experts on these issues. We will also step up our engagement to fight corruption, smuggling, organized crime, and other illegal activities. The dialogue between Moldova and Ukraine at the governmental level is very active now and will continue in the same way in the future. We have a large number of ambitious goals to achieve, we have to make sure that our security is really high and that we can implement all new economic projects together”, said Denis Șmigal.
