Maia Sandu revealed what information about “Russia’s plan to destroy Moldova” was transmitted to her by Vladimir Zelenski. She says military subversives would come to us to change power and calls for bills to untie the hands of prosecutors and SIS officers.
The president wants punishment for all those involved. She mentioned veterans and ex-employees of law enforcement, members of the Şor Party, but also people who were close to Vlad Plahotniuc.
“The Parliament of the Republic of Moldova must adopt, as soon as possible, the draft laws that will provide the SIS and the prosecutor’s office with the necessary tools to combat more effectively the risks to the country’s security. All those who participate in these actions directed against the state of the Republic of Moldova – external elements, members of political parties and criminal groups, and all those who protect them, must be held accountable,” says Sandu.
At the same time, the president urges citizens to remain vigilant and to believe only “official information”. According to her, “the most aggressive form of attack is the informational attack.”

On Thursday, February 9, at the Council of the European Union, Vladimir Zelenski said that during a discussion with Maia Sandu, without specifying when it took place, he informed the head of state about “Russia’s plan to destroy Moldova”. Immediately, SIS confirmed that such information was received, Nicu Popescu, referred to last year’s attempts, while the Presidency of the Republic of Moldova neither confirmed nor denied what was said by the Ukrainian leader. The Kremlin has denied involvement in such actions.
