The municipality will purchase the largest batch of special vehicles for the evacuation and transportation of waste within the “Autosalubrity” Î. M. Regia, part of the “Solid Waste Chisinau” project. It is about 30 new special vehicles.

“The purchase of the 30 modern special vehicles is one of the largest purchase lots not only in Chisinau, but in the entire country. They will contribute to increasing the efficiency and quality of waste management services, reducing costs, as well as improving the quality of this service. The municipality is actively implementing several segments of waste management, including the recent agreement with the waste sorting operator, which sorts the entire volume of waste transported by Regia Autosalubritate”, says mayor Ion Ceban.

Special vehicles on the RENAULT model chassis will also be equipped with advanced technologies, which will allow the collection of more data related to the operation and performance of the special vehicles. They are equipped with navigation systems and operator protection systems, thanks to which they will be used more efficiently.

The mayor says that the delivery period of the garbage trucks is 12 months from the date of signing the contract, and the purchase amount is over 3 million 500 thousand euros, approximately 70 million lei.

The purchase of these 30 new trucks is part of the “Solid Waste Chisinau” project, financed by the municipality of Chisinau, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, the European Investment Bank and the Eastern European Partnership Fund for Energy Efficiency and the Environment (E5P).
