The “Angel Kanchev” University from Ruse, Bulgaria, will open a branch in Taraclia following an agreement ratified in Parliament between the governments of Chisinau and Sofia. Authorities believe this will enhance education and training opportunities for young people in southern Moldova, allowing them to obtain EU-recognized and accredited specializations.
“The educational institution’s presence will enrich cultural and social life in the south, support the internationalization of higher education, and attract foreign students to Moldova’s educational system through active involvement in international projects,” stated the legislature’s press service.
The Moldovan government will allow the Bulgarian side to use the State University “Grigore Tamblac” in Taraclia facilities under a common datum agreement, with responsibility for utility and maintenance expenses. Students and staff will continue their work in the new branch, and students will have the option to study on either a budgeted or contract basis in line with Moldovan law.
