The Action and Solidarity Party (PAS) will hold discussions in the coming days on the necessary steps for the upcoming period, including key reforms, fiscal policy, and public wage legislation, according to Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu.

Grosu thanked the outgoing prime minister for his mandate and efforts in office, noting that the party has not yet announced its nominee for the position of head of government.

“We thank Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu for accepting to come during an intense period for our country and for the efforts made together with the other members of the Government,” Grosu said.

He added that President Maia Sandu will hold consultations with parliamentary factions next week. PAS will also discuss internally the priorities for the next stage, including major reforms, fiscal policy, and salary legislation.

“We will listen to more opinions and carefully analyze society’s expectations. The most important thing is to continue without interruption the efforts related to EU accession,” the Speaker said.

Munteanu announced his resignation on the morning of July 3. Next week, Maia Sandu is expected to hold consultations with parliamentary parties to identify a new candidate for prime minister.
