Apricot exports increased 4.5 times over the year

Exports of apricots increased 4.5 times during the year -from 821 tons exported in January-June 2023 to 3,689 tons. These data were announced today by Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Economic Development and Digitalization Dumitru Alaiba.

Dumitru Alaiba attributed this achievement primarily to entrepreneurs who seize opportunities in crises and adapt to challenges.

They export most of the apricots to Ukraine, Romania, and Poland.

Apricot production has rapidly developed in Moldova in recent years. Currently, apricots cover 4,500 hectares, with expansion exceeding 200 hectares annually.
