Moldovan citizens living abroad can vote today, October 20, 2024, at 231 polling stations open in 37 countries. The most polling stations were opened in Italy – 60 in number. There are 26 in Germany, 20 in France, and 17 polling stations in the UK.
In Romania, there will be 16 polling stations, the same number as in the United States. The 16 countries have one polling station each, including Belarus, Azerbaijan, and Bulgaria. Two polling stations are open in Russia.

The premiere of this election was postal voting, an alternative method of voting for diaspora citizens. For the first time this election, it was partially implemented in six countries. They are the USA, Canada, Norway, Sweden, Iceland, Norway, Norway, Iceland and Finland.

Voters will choose one of the 11 candidates vying to become president of Moldova: Alexandr Stoianoglo, Maia Sandu, Renato Usatii, Vasile Tarlev, Irina Vlah, Ion Chicu, Andrei Nastase, Octavian Ticu, Victoria Furtuna, Tudor Ulianovschi and Natalia Morari.
In the republican constitutional referendum, voters will answer “YES” or “NO” to the question “Do you support amending the Constitution with a view to Moldova’s accession to the European Union?”
Polling stations will close at 21:00 in Moldova and abroad, based on local time in each country. If lines form, officials may extend voting hours by up to two hours.
Afterward, officials will begin processing ballot papers and announcing the first preliminary results.
