“Break the silence! We are together”. UNFPA informs about gender-based violence and services available in Moldova

UN Women raises public awareness of the phenomenon of gender-based violence. On Saturday, at the House of Culture in Comrat, officials, doctors, lawyers, and psychologists held information sessions and discussed the forms of gender-based violence, their consequences, and the services available in the country for survivors.

In addition to the talks, the event included creative workshops and activities for children and parents. The participants also had a surprise – a recital by Adrian Ursu.

The event took place within the social campaign to prevent gender-based violence “Break the silence! We stand by”, implemented by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), the United Nations Refugee Agency (UNHCR), the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) and the United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women (UN Women) in partnership with the Ministry Labor and Social Protection.

On Sunday, March 19, 2023, starting at 14:00, residents of the south of the country and refugees are invited to Cahul. A similar event will be organized there.
