Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu announced that Moldova will hold its parliamentary elections on September 28, 2025.
He explained that PAS deputies submitted the draft resolution proposing this date for the vote. Grosu highlighted that the upcoming election will be crucial in shaping the country’s future.
“These elections are truly crucial. Either we throw away everything we’ve achieved on our path to modernization and EU integration, or we move forward toward peace and development,” Grosu said. “Our goal is to ensure that Moldova stays on the road to peace, avoids falling under Kremlin influence, and preserves its sovereignty and freedom.”

Parliament sets the election date. The current legislature’s mandate ends on July 11, 2025, and under existing legislation, the elections must take place within three months of that date.
