After the Alternativa Bloc faction held consultations with Alexandru Munteanu, Ion Ceban stated that he wants the government to address people’s problems and apply a pragmatic approach. In turn, Alexandr Stoianoglo mentioned that the discussions also covered the evaluation of prosecutors and judges.
Stoianoglo also referred to issues concerning Gagauzia and the possible inclusion of the Mayor of the Capital in the new Cabinet of Ministers. Meanwhile, Ion Chicu remarked that, in his opinion, the talks were not merely formal.
“I want people’s problems to be heard and resolved. We conveyed the proposals of the Alternativa Bloc, which were formulated during meetings with citizens. It is important to adopt a pragmatic approach. We also discussed the new budgetary framework. The prime minister-designate acknowledged that it is a framework program. Unfortunately, it resembles more an electoral platform,” said Ion Ceban.
“What they presented to society can hardly be called a program. It discredits itself from the beginning. It looks more like a student’s term paper that would not pass the year,” commented Ion Chicu.
Representatives of the Alternativa Bloc stated that they will decide whether to support the government formed by Alexandru Munteanu based on whether the program is revised before its presentation in Parliament.
On Wednesday, consultations continued in Parliament between the designated prime minister and the parliamentary factions. Both “Our Party” and “Democracy at Home” announced after their discussions that they would request the postponement of the session in which the vote of confidence for the new cabinet is to be held.
