SA Energocom signed on Saturday the electricity supply contract with MGRES for the month of December. According to Deputy Prime Minister Andrei Spînu, the two parties agreed to analyze the option of extending the contract for the period January – March 2023. In this way, the whole country will be provided with electricity.
In December, the Republic of Moldova would receive approximately 204 thousand MW.
“This quantity, together with the bilateral contracts in Romania, is sufficient for all the consumption of the right bank. The price is $73. MoldovaGaz will deliver 5.7 million m3 of gas per day to the left bank, including MGRES. CSE and ANRE are to decide on the electricity tariff reduction.
Andrei Spinu claims that this contract represents a reasonable compromise to ensure the citizens on both banks of the Dniester with electricity and gas.

“The right bank will use the gas from the reserve we have accumulated. For the first time, the right bank is no longer dependent on gas supplied by Gazprom. With the signing of this contract, the risk of massive disconnections from electricity is reduced. We are doing our best to keep the country connected”, concludes the Minister of Infrastructure and Regional Development.
According to Deputy Prime Minister Andrei Spînu, the Commission for Exceptional Situations (CSE) and ANRE are to adopt a decision regarding the reduction of the electricity tariff.
The Official Monitor published on Friday, December 2, ANRE’s decision regarding the increase in regulated prices for electricity provided by universal and last-option service providers.
When submitting the request, Premier Energy requested a rate of 6.39 lei kw/h, 34% more than the current rate, and FEE Nord requested a rate of 5.68 lei kw/h, 18% more compared to the current rate.
The last electricity price increase took place at the beginning of November, and the penultimate tariff increase was in October.
