Minister of Labor and Social Protection Alexei Buzu announced during the “Rezoomat” show on RliveTV that citizens who fail to pay their bills could lose their right to compensation.
Buzu emphasized that official data shows most citizens meet their payment obligations. However, authorities are considering stricter measures for those who delay bill payments.
According to the minister, individuals who do not pay their bills or face significant delays might be excluded from receiving compensation.

“Based on the reviewed data, most citizens pay their bills. We’ve also discussed this with suppliers and the Ministry of Energy. If we observe a higher level of non-payment, we will evaluate options to address it. For instance, those who fail to pay or have significant delays may no longer qualify for compensation. But we’re not there yet,” explained Alexei Buzu.
Moldovans will receive increased compensation for heating costs for December. Minister Buzu stated that the minimum compensation would be 500 MDL, the average 700 MDL, and the maximum 1,000 MDL.
Payments will be transferred to bank cards or available for collection at post offices starting January 10, 2025.
