Maia Sandu signed a decree introducing changes to the National Commission for European Integration. As a result, former President of the Plenum of the Competition Council of Moldova Alexei Ghertescu, former Director of the State Agency on Intellectual Property of Moldova Eugeniu Rusu, and former presidential spokesperson Igor Zaharov were removed from the commission.

Serghei Diaconu, Director of the Crisis Management Center of Moldova, will also no longer serve on the commission. At the same time, Angelica Caraman, head of the Central Electoral Commission of Moldova, was added to the commission.

Alina Cebotariov will replace Alexei Gherțescu, while Deputy Director of the State Agency on Intellectual Property Natalia Mogol will take over the position previously held by Eugeniu Rusu.

In addition, Government State Secretary Rodica Cerevate also joined the commission.

Authorities established the National Commission for European Integration by presidential decree in 2022 after the Republic of Moldova submitted its application to join the European Union. The body coordinates the efforts of multiple institutions to help Moldova achieve its goal of becoming an EU member state.
