Independence is not easy, and it comes with a cost. Our neighbors pay with human lives and daily tragedies; we pay with higher invoices. Deputy Parliament Speaker Doina Gherman made these statements.
She noted that Moldova “entered the New Year with caution and confidence.” “This is the first year we can become 100% energy independent. Independence is not easy, and it costs. Our neighbors pay with human lives and daily tragedies; we pay with higher bills. Several months ago, a terrible lie spread, claiming that Moldova was preparing for military mobilization. The only mobilization we face is to consume electricity responsibly and preserve our unity and humanity,” Gherman commented.
She also emphasized that each individual can make a difference and urged citizens to save energy. “We cannot change things globally, especially when they don’t depend on us, but we can make a difference, each in our place. We should turn off a lamp so that others do not steal the light—of the future and our eyes. In this way, we will show that Moldova is capable,” Gherman added.
