The unmanned aerial vehicle discovered on Thursday, August 27, Moldova’s Independence Day, near the Chisinau-Basarabeasca road has been identified as a “Parodiya” drone, police said following an on-site examination.
According to the Police, the damaged drone was found outside the village of Carabetovca after apparently hitting a tree on the side of the road.
Inspections, including X-ray examinations, found no explosive devices or substances on board the aircraft.
Police are continuing their investigation to establish all the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Authorities were alerted this morning by a citizen who reported a flying object that had fallen to the ground near the Chisinau-Basarabeasca road. Police officers immediately arrived at the scene, identified the object and secured the area.
