Furthermore, Moldova is updating the third round of its Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC), which will include more ambitious economy-wide reduction targets compared to NDC 2.0. The updated NDC aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 70% by 2030 compared to 1990. Additionally, through the National Program for Forest Expansion and Rehabilitation (2023-2032), Moldova aims to increase forest coverage from 11% to 15%, thereby reducing CO2 emissions by approximately 12 million tons over the next 30 years.
The minister also emphasized the importance of international support from developed countries to address challenges related to technical capacity and financial resources,” said the ministry statement.
The Biennial Transparency Report is a crucial tool for transparency, accountability, and assessing progress on climate change. It supports global efforts to reduce emissions and adapt to climate change while providing a framework for better international cooperation and increased trust between nations.
